Kingsclere: BCMS manages acquisition of Fox Linton Ltd by Jim Thompson

Fox Linton Ltd, a supplier of premium fabrics and high-end furniture, has been acquired by Jim Thompson, in a transaction managed by international M&A advisor BCMS.

Fox Linton Ltd is a supplier of premium fabric collections to the UK residential and commercial interior design markets. Located in London, at the Design Centre Chelsea Harbour, a leading design destination, the company is an exclusive representative of a number of internationally renowned design houses, including Holly Hunt, Loro Piana, and Majilite. Fox Linton Ltd has a prestigious customer base, including internationally recognised luxury brands, such as Harrods, Sunseeker Yachts and Four Seasons.

The acquirer Jim Thompson is a privately owned business established in 1951. From its beginnings as a small Bangkok retailer of silk fabrics, the company is now a fully integrated textile company employing 2,300 people internationally. There are 48 Jim Thompson retail outlets and home furnishing fabric showrooms in the USA and Europe, with distribution in 39 countries.

BCMS lead advisor Nick Lankester, who managed the transaction, said: “The interest in Fox Linton was very encouraging and was indicative of the tremendous appeal that strong brands within the UK interiors market hold for international acquirers. The acquisition by Jim Thompson is a formalisation of an already strong and historic relationship, and offers an exciting launching pad for the Fox Linton brand into global markets.”

International M&A advisor BCMS, which has its headquarters in Kingsclere, acted as lead advisor to the vendors. As part of its work, BCMS discreetly approached potential acquirers located in the UK and internationally, and managed advanced stage discussions with a number of organisations, before securing the deal with Jim Thompson.
