ISP firm Altnets win Hustle Award
Altnets, a Brighton-based internet service provider supplier, has been named Top Performing Team at Startups Magazine’s Hustle Awards. This is the first award the company has won since it was founded in 2020.
The Hustle Awards is an annual awards ceremony, organised by Startups Magazine which aims to recognise the best business innovation and achievement in the UK’s startups. Following a record number of entries, Altnets was given its prize at an awards evening in London.
Launched in late 2020 by Paul Britnell and Sam Bangle, Altnets aims to support the UK telecoms market through the transition to full fire broadband networks.
Through its worldwide network of partners, the firm helps independent ISPs to form a supply chain, connecting them with the building materials necessary to form their network infrastructure including fibre cables, ducts and nodes to access chambers.
Between February 2021 and April 2022 the firm saw a 700 per cent growth in turnover, as well as an incredible 100 per cent client retention. More than 80 per cent of the company’s total client base was successfully on-boarded in this period.

Sam Bangle, Co-Founder and Director of Altnets, said: “We are thrilled to see our hard-working team recognised at the Hustle Awards. Being a fairly young company, we have experienced exponential growth over the past 18 months, despite many challenges within the supply chain industry, and that is 100% down to our talented team.
“The team’s top-notch knowledge of the telecoms industry and strong relationships with our manufacturing partners means they can fully support customers through the whole procurement process; save them time and money; and solve any problems arising in the supply chain.”
The awards are judged by a panel of professionals leading their fields, chosen specially for their knowledge, experience and integrity. Their comments on Altnets highlights the team’s achievements over the year
“This is a company that lives by their values. Not only is there clear evidence of Altnets’ strong customer retention and business growth, their entry also demonstrated the challenges they faced in achieving this success” they said.
“All the while they continued to go the extra mile to deliver great service to their clients. The judges loved the humanity of this entry.”
