A Hove-based social enterprise is on a mission to turn children into little 'eco-warriors' to help fight the environmental crisis facing the world and has launched a crowdfunding campaign.

It’s Our Planet Too was founded by mum Kate Cohen and said it has developed the UK’s first eco subscription and activity boxes for children.

The award winning kits contain activities to help children take action and save the environment. For example there are baking recipes, mask making, facts about nature and more. One customer described the pack as 'Blue Peter in a box!'

"The way we live today has an impact and we're starting to see the repercussions in every corner of the globe," said Kate.

"There are some big battles to fight - from climate change, to pollution, habitat destruction to declining biodiversity.

"Our world is changing fast and this can be scary. In fact, two thirds of British parents say they are afraid of the future for their children. More worryingly, 65 per cent of seven- to 14-year-olds are frightened of climate change."

It’s Our Planet Too wants to help expose children from all backgrounds to an element of environmental education they may not otherwise receive.

As a member of Social Enterprise UK, it also pledges to give a minimum of 50% of its profits back to good causes.

The business has launched a reward-based crowdfunding campaign to help grow the venture, which it wants to turn into an organisation synonymous with making a positive change for a greener future.

"By bringing the environment into our playtimes, we teach our children the value of their planet and equip them to become little eco heroes, who are empowered to protect our incredible world," it said.
