A Dorset company is planning a major sales push into Eastern Europe after successfully completing a management buyout for an undisclosed amount.

AlfaTronix, which manufactures voltage converters and power supplies, already exports most of its production to customers in more than 30 countries.

Now the firm is to target the growth markets of Eastern Europe in a bid to boost annual sales from the current £2.8 million to £5 million within the next five years.

Managing Director Keith Reilly said: “We believe there is huge potential for our products in these emerging countries.

“Our new company structure gives us the ability to actively target the main growth areas in Europe.”

Founded in 1979, AlfaTronix employs 30 people at its head office and manufacturing plant on the Newtown Business Park in Parkstone, Poole.

Apart from Western Europe the firm exports its products to the USA, Mexico, South America, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand.

The new company, AlfaTronix Holdings, has been acquired from majority shareholder Peter Verralls.

Mr Reilly, who was previously a minority shareholder, remains as MD but is joined by fellow directors and MBO members Graham Gairn, Chris Black and Linda Kitching.

Grant Esterhuizen, who heads the company commercial arm of Ellis Jones Solicitors, acted as the main adviser to Mr Reilly.

Other advisers involved in the deal included chartered accountants Morris Lane, bankers RBS NatWest, David Ashplant of Lester Aldridge, who acted for the majority shareholder, and Blake Lapthorn Tarlo Lyons.
