Growing Chippenham creative agency Milk & Tweed has welcomed Jon Mynette as its new web manager to help its continued expansion to meet demand.

He is joined by digital marketer and studio assistant Alice Goulding as the agency, which specialises in website creation, brand and logo design and digital marketing, builds on two consecutive record-breaking months and the acquisition of Sussex digital agency Huxley.

Jon will be overseeing the client website building side of the business, from design to build.

“I’ll be making sure each stage of the process is as good as it can be,” he said. “The plan is for me also to be the face of the website creation side, so I’ll be the first port of call for clients.”

After studying music in London the accomplished drummer, who is originally from Droitwich, toured the UK in support of a sing/songwriter before working in a management role at a national musical instrument hire business.

He left to become a freelance website designer and builder for an agency in Bristol, where he lives.

He said the decision to join Milk & Tweed was an easy one. “Even from the initial chat I had with Jake Jeffries the creative director I liked the way he looked at things, it was very structured and very ambitious.

“I am really enjoying part of the team, it’s been good getting to know everyone and it’s a really nice vibe here.

"I’m looking forward to working with Jake, he’s very ambitious in what he wants to achieve so I’m delighted at being on board for everything we are going to accomplish. That’s the most exciting thing and what attracted me here.”

Alice, who grew up in Herefordshire, left university in Gloucester last summer after finishing a degree in graphic design.

“I’ve always loved marketing and adding complexity to graphic design so I came out of university undecided on which direction I wanted to go,” she said.

“Then I did an internship in digital marketing and PR and also covered maternity leave for a website designer, which I really enjoyed. When I saw the role at Milk & Tweed and realised it offers all three, I was very keen on coming here.”

She will be writing content, designing graphics and scheduling for clients’ social media as well as producing website content. She will also be working on the agency’s own social media, email and SEO marketing.

“I love writing blog posts for clients, I enjoy doing the research for them because it’s really fascinating doing long-form content. I also enjoy the graphic design element of designing social media posts.”

She said the close-knit culture of the team at the agency’ has made it easy to settle in. “The team here have made me feel so unbelievably welcome,” she said.

“I love that every day there’s a communal part of it where we all spend time together at lunch playing darts, that’s quite rare. Milk & Tweed have made it so that we always join together and catch up. I really enjoy that.”

Jake said the new additions will help the agency stay on top of the increased workload brought about by new clients and the acquisition of Huxley in Brighton.

“It’s a very exciting time for us because we’ve had an amazing last quarter, welcomed some fantastic new clients and brought in fresh talent like Jon and Alice,” he said.

“With the acquisition of Huxley we can now offer some of their customers our services such as digital marketing and we will be inheriting technical web skills that will add to our offer, so there is a huge amount going on.

“We are always on the lookout for creative and talented people like Jon and Alice because we can only see ourselves getting busier and busier, and I’m delighted they are part of the team.”
