ConnectTVT, the initiative accelerating the growth of the digital ecosystem in the Thames Valley, is leading a day of conversations with Gerard Grech, Tech City CEO, to help shape the future of Reading’s tech economy.

Tech Nation: a national network

Last November, Reading was recognised as one of the newly formed Tech Nation’s 11 regional tech clusters - a national network, connecting and catalysing growth in through programmes aimed at every stage in the lifecycle of a digital business. It places the town within a powerful network, supported by £21 million additional funding, aimed at ensuring the UK remains firmly at the top of global tech rankings.

Reading’s growing tech cluster

ConnectTVT founder Louize Clarke will bring together some of Reading’s most ambitious tech start-ups and scale-ups  - Altitude Angel, Enswarm  and Kymira - to discuss what today’s tech business really needs to thrive in the area. Talent, connectivity and corporate support are challenges affecting those looking to do and create business in Reading.

“Our tech cluster is growing up,” Clarke explained, “But it remains fragmented and there’s a sense we’re working in pockets. This is the opportunity for our tech community to share what they need at a national level. For us, it’s about collaboration, investing in grassroots, and real commitment to cultivate a diverse and engaged digital eco-system.”

ConnectTVT’s tech deep dive takes place on Thursday, March 22, at Thames Tower, with Thames Valley LEP, Reading CIC and UTC also looking at how Reading’s true tech potential can be reached.

Be part of Reading’s tech future

ConnectTVT is sponsoring The Business Magazine’s Tech Start-Up Business in the region’s first Thames Valley Tech Awards. If you’re a start-up founded in the past two years, and want to be part of Reading’s tech future, enter here:
