Thames Valley national and international law firm Boyes Turner has expanded its commercial and technology team with the addition of Helen Dobson.

Dobson joins from national firm Osborne Clarke, where she worked with domestic and international clients on the technology, transport and retail sectors. Her experience includes advising on technology transactions spanning SaaS arrangements, in-car internet, and commuter information services, as well as the exploitation of intellectual property and data protection.

This latest appointment, along with the appointment of Sara McKay to the property team in August, Cicely Slatter and Tom Pimenta to the employment team in September and October respectively, highlights the strides Boyes Turner is making in boosting expertise across the firm. Dobson joins a team which includes partners Mark Blunden, Bill Gornall-King and Sarah Williamson, to advise clients on their commercial deals.

Mark Blunden, head of the technology and innovation team, commented: “I am delighted Helen has joined the team, her experience working with technology sector clients adds further strength and depth to our well established top ranking in the region.”

Boyes Turner’s Reading roots and ready access to the silicon corridor have seen it build a nationally and internationally recognised specialism in technology and related sectors. The firm now has 18 lawyers working primarily or exclusively on high tech, digital media and other innovation focused clients.

As a firm it is ranked as one of the UK’s leading technology law firms, with the commercial and technology partners also being recognised as experts in their field. Clients include leading online publishers, solutions suppliers, leading providers of IT outsourcing, training, recruitment and call-centre solutions, major communications businesses and data providers.
