Hampshire-based Sonardyne has been recognised with a Queen’s Award for Enterprise in Innovation, the highest award a UK business can receive. This marine technology company has developed a pioneering system that is used to study ocean floor movement. Sonardyne’s seabed deformation monitoring system provides engineers and scientists with critical new understanding of the seafloor and the physical processes that act upon it.

Graham Brown, managing director of Sonardyne, said “This award, our fourth Queen’s Award, reflects the commitment of our workforce, both here at our headquarters in Hampshire and at our international locations, in solving our clients’ most important underwater challenges. It has added significance this year, as we celebrate our 50th year in business.”

Lloyds Development Capital Limited, is a mid-market private equity house and subsidiary of Lloyds Banking GroupPrivate equity investor LDC will invest in Phoenix Datacom, a data and network security specialist based in Aylesbury.

“We’re seeing a high demand from organisations wanting to ensure they have cutting-edge technology to scale their networks and protect against cyber-threats. With LDC’s support, we will be able to maximise this opportunity so that we can build, scale and further enhance our product and service offering,” said John Carson, managing director of Phoenix Datacom.
