Surrey partnership brings fibre optic broadband to the South East

Two Surrey-based firms have partnered up to install fibre optic broadband in hundreds of thousands of homes across the South East.

Box Broadband, a Cranleigh-based internet service provider, has partnered with Guildford’s Lanes Infrastructure, a telecoms infrastructure network build company established in 2018, to build fibre optic networks across the South East capable of providing up to 10Gbit/s.

Graham Sargood, CEO of Box Broadband, said: “We are thrilled to be working with Lanes Infrastructure as they will help us install ultrafast fibre across many communities across the South East.

“Our ultrafast full fibre optic technology roll-out will future-proof homes and can help improve their value. These improvements will ensure that the network is fit for purpose and will be able to cope with demand, both today and in the future.

“Our teams are local to the communities we serve so our customers can easily access support and we are proud of our quick turnaround times when it comes to helping our customers. We regularly receive positive feedback about the personal support we provide.”

Because the fibre optic cables run directly into customers’ homes instead of being relayed from a nearby telecoms cabinet, the network signal is not impacted by distance from a cabinet.
