The digital frontier, cybercrime and GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) are some of the topics being highlighted to dozens of business leaders at the latest business breakfast clubs being held by the Southampton office of Smith & Williamson, the accountancy, investment management and tax group.

The complementary event takes place at St Mary’s Stadium, Southampton on Tuesday, January 30 from 7.30am to 9am.

Andrew Edmonds, the managing partner of the Southampton office of Smith & Williamson, said: “Our first business breakfast of the year, which is always very popular with over 100 business professionals attending, will shine a light on crucial business decisions that need to be made in 2018.”

Edmonds will be presenting the results of the recent Nexia International cybercrime survey providing an overview of global trends in what is rapidly becoming the number one issue for many clients.  He will provide examples of cyber-attacks that hit companies in 2017 and the impact they had.

Guest speaker, Mark O’Halloran, partner at law firm Coffin Mew, will be sharing his experience of working with clients to carry out data audits and identify non-compliances. He will explain the common issues identified and suggest some robust approaches to address them.
