Grant Thornton has announced the appointment of Andrew Brosnan as associate director of life sciences across the Thames Valley and Southampton region.

This new hire reflects Grant Thornton’s move towards strengthening the Thames Valley and Southampton team within the life sciences sector and their continuing investment in growing their core markets in the South region.

Brosnan joins the South region from Grant Thornton International where he led their global research programme, the largest mid-market research into business leaders’ views on the economy, current business and industry specific topics. Prior to joining Grant Thornton International, he spent 12 years in the life sciences industry, initially with Merck & Co devising solutions for their global chemistry department and then with Ovum as a client-facing vertical market analyst covering the life sciences sector.

Brosnan’s broad life sciences background and experience in commercial analysis brings a fresh perspective to the wider South region where there is a wealth of life science and related businesses.

Wendy Hart, partner, Grant Thornton UK LLP, said: “We are incredibly pleased to have Andrew on board with us and we are confident that he will be a huge asset to the business. His specialist knowledge combined with wider growth expertise builds on our offering to the market. The region’s practice has been growing rapidly and we are confident that with Andrew’s guidance we will see advisory boosted even further as he joins us with a huge wealth of industry knowledge and international experience.”
