Wilson Partners Corporate Finance has supported Octopus Investments Development Capital Team, part of the Octopus Group, with financial and tax due diligence on its £3.2 million development capital funding of One Team Logic, the safeguarding and child protection software business.

One Team Logic will use the investment to further develop its safeguarding software and its wrap-around services, as well as expanding into new market sectors where they have identified a significant appetite for their solution.

Richard Court, head of development capital at Octopus Investments, said: “One Team Logic is a fast-growing business with a proven track record and a hugely loyal and supportive customer base.  MyConcern and the services that accompany it are helping to keep people safe on a daily basis”.

Martin Baker, CEO of One Team Logic, added: “We looked long and hard to find the right partner to help us achieve our vision of being the world’s leading provider of safeguarding solutions.  To have secured the backing of Octopus Investments is a huge testament to the skill and commitment of our staff and to the service that they provide to our customers.”

Based in South Wales, One Team Logic was founded in 2014 by Martin Baker QPM, Mike Glanville and Darryl Morton.  MyConcern® is a trusted and secure safeguarding software solution used extensively in schools and colleges across the UK and world-wide, as well as by local authorities, sports organisations, charities, youth groups and training organisations. Developed by child protection experts with backgrounds in social care, education and policing, the system enables anyone working with children and young people to record and manage any safeguarding, wellbeing or pastoral concerns. MyConcern facilitates the early identification of risk and provides safeguarding leads with the confidence that they are meeting their legal and moral obligations to those under their care.

Octopus Investments, part of the Octopus Group, is an award-winning, fast-growing investment business dedicated to delivering quality services and products to financial advisers and investors across the UK. They offer a broad portfolio ranging from tax-efficient investments to multi-manager funds, UK smaller company investing, cash management solutions and peer to peer lending.

Dan James, director at Maidenhead-based Wilson Partners, said: “OTL has created a market-leading product that addresses a genuine social problem where traditional practices are no longer sufficient. The balanced, capable and highly experienced management team will benefit hugely from the partnership with Octopus as they drive to deliver future growth plans.”
