KETS Quantum Security has been awarded the ‘Best of British – Cyber Security
Bristol-based KETS Quantum Security has been awarded the ‘Best of British – Cyber Security’ honour as part of a campaign aiming to showcase and recognise a handful of UK success stories. These innovative British SME companies have been achieving growth and demonstrating excellence – who through their enterprise and expertise are making a positive contribution and driving the economy forward.
Dr Chris Erven, CEO and co-founder of KETS Quantum Security, said: “In today’s world, we don’t go 30 seconds without touching digital technology of some kind, all of which is networked, none of which is quantum-safe."
KETS is developing quantum-safe solutions to protect data from a new generation of cyberattack that will use quantum computers to break through our existing encryption protections.
Progress in the field of quantum computing has been advancing exponentially over the past decade. With that progress, the threat of quantum attacks on our communications is rapidly approaching. ‘Q-Day’ is the day when all the private information we currently encrypt and send around the world becomes public and easily readable by a quantum computer. And Q-Day is coming sooner than we think, says KETS.
KETS’ solution against these quantum security threats starts with chip-based, quantum-safe development kits. For example, the technology will enable quantum-safe data centre back-ups to ensure our banking information, which most financial services providers are moving to the cloud, is quantum-safe and secure. It will also allow telecommunications providers to flexibly and securely control their networks and alert them to new attacks on their systems.
Dr Chris Erven added: “We now live in a quantum enabled economy. The requirements for protecting our information have fundamentally changed.
“At KETS, we have taken it as our mission to protect our key information from the threat of quantum computing. We are incredibly excited to be taking our first devices out into the wild with customers to start building quantum-safe networks. And we are keen to talk to investors as we enter the scaling phase of our journey.”
