A designer and supplier of home technology gadgets and products has moved into its newly purchased, 6,500 sq ft headquarters in Luton, after securing a six-figure commercial mortgage from HSBC UK to support its expansion plans.
Founded in 2017, Ener-j Smart designs a wide range of innovative home technology gadgets including LED lighting, WiFi and IoT solutions and other electrical and eco-friendly products. The business supplies to wholesalers across the UK and Europe, including high-profile customer such as Argos and The Range.
Ener-j Smart has seen a 60% increase in demand as a result of people working from home during the pandemic. As businesses consider remote working as a long-term solution, Ener-j Smart plans to build on this growth by further expanding its portfolio of products.
Having outgrown its previous leased premises in Luton, the new site will enable Ener-j Smart to increase its stock capacity by 35%. The new HQ also boasts a state-of-the-art showroom for potential customers to test and experience its products first-hand.
Ash Patel, operations director at Ener-j Smart, said: "Our new headquarters will provide the additional capacity required to support our busy domestic and international logistics programme. This is crucial for the next phase of growth for the business and follows a really busy trading period over the last 12 months as more people switched to home working. Thanks to the support from our relationship manager at HSBC UK, Alex Richards, we’re now well placed to grow the business at a faster rate."
