Former Samsung Electronics vice president Graham Long has joined Onecom to help lead its specialism in supplying connected audio-visual solutions to businesses and the leisure industry.

Long joins the Whiteley-based communications provider after nearly a decade at Samsung, where he was responsible for Samsung's enterprise business in the UK and Ireland.

The appointment comes as Onecom launches Evolve AV to provide combined connectivity and audio-visual solutions led by Samsung technology. Its first major project will be the installation of giant Samsung LED screens and Wi-Fi technology at The Ageas Bowl, creating the first fully-connected cricket stadium in the UK.

Onecom chief executive officer Darren Ridge said: “Graham’s wealth of expertise and depth of knowledge gained from heading up the enterprise division of Samsung for many years, which included its commercial display business, will further reinforce the strong relationship between Evolve AV and Samsung. We are very pleased to welcome him to the team where his expertise and innovative approach to targeting industry verticals and differentiated sales models will support Onecom and Evolve AV’s mission to lead the market in unified communications and audio-visual technology.”

Long said: “Onecom is recognised across the industry for its innovative implementation of Samsung technology in mobile communications and I am looking forward to the challenge of helping Evolve AV achieve a similar reputation in the field of audio-visual technology.”

Onecom, which has headquarters in Hampshire and offices around the UK and Northern Ireland, is the UK’s largest independent business telecommunications provider, operating from 12 regional offices, including London, Cardiff, Southampton, Plymouth, Leeds, Telford, Norwich and Brighton.

The company currently manages over 325,000 mobile connections, delivering communication services and unified solutions across fixed line voice, connectivity and cloud computing to some of the UK’s most dynamic companies.

Onecom was voted Vodafone Platinum Partner of 2011, 2012, 2013 & 2014. In 2015, 2016 and again in 2017, Onecom was named Vodafone’s Total Communications Partner – the network’s highest accolade for partners in its Partner Programme. It is currently Vodafone UK’s largest partner.

Evolve AV is a full-service audio-visual solutions provider, part of Onecom Group.

Having established a strong and progressive relationship with Samsung UK’s industry-leading AV and Wi-Fi teams, Evolve AV delivers the very best in commercial video and content solutions to retail, hospitality and stadia operators throughout the UK. Evolve AV heads an alliance of established, multi-disciplined digital media specialists.
