Farnham’s BEDEO supplies electric retrofit tech to Medisort

BEDEO is helping to electrify the diesel fleet of West Sussex waste management firm Medisort using its RE-100 Range Extender technology.

The proprietary tech enables vehicles to travel on electric-only mode in urban areas and only use the diesel engine for longer distances.

It features two in-wheel motors fitted to the rear axle and a 37 kWh battery developed and manufactured by BEDEO’s group company Protean Electric.

This will allow Medisort – which caters for various healthcare organisations like dentists, care homes and hospitals – to extend the life of its X250 diesel vans while limiting emissions.

Established in Turkey but with a UK base in Farnham, Hampshire, BEDEO also produces its own 100 per cent electric lightweight commercial vehicles and passenger models.

The company supplies global OEMs such as Stellantis.

Medisort has so far added one RE-100 van to its fleet, with a second expected to join later this year as part of a phased rollout.
