When the Covid-19 lockdown began, companies had to act quickly to enable remote working, maintain customer contact and minimise business interruption. In this unforeseen situation, Epoq IT is supporting its customers all the way.

A Digital Springboard service helps businesses to maximise the benefits of enforced digital transformation and to build more agile IT platforms during these troubled times. Initiatives like this earned Epoq IT its place as a finalist for Innovative Tech Company in the 2020 Thames Valley Tech Awards.

Epoq IT’s approach is to first identify a customer’s business objectives and then find the best technology solutions to meet them. It supports many business owners and SME management teams across the Thames Valley.

Since the company started in 2002, the increase in data protection regulations, cyber security threats and demand for more flexible working have made Epoq IT’s services more valuable than ever.

“The idea for Epoq IT was borne out of our own experiences in how IT is delivered. We started offering a managed IT service before it became such a big thing,” said managing director Gary Swanwick.

Epoq IT invests significantly in supporting customers with everything from emails and document management to Microsoft SharePoint and data analytics. “We set out to be a worry-free, one-stop shop – your outsourced IT department,” he added.

Alongside the team’s technical expertise, Swanwick also emphasised the importance of their relationship-building skills. “In the IT sector, you can lose the human touch if you’re not careful. We are very people-focused.”

The company is also big on data automation. “We use data religiously to improve our own business performance and decision-making. So, we are practicing what we preach.”

Springboard improves confidence

The gradual transition by businesses towards greater digitalisation has accelerated with the Covid-19 pandemic. Working from home generated a massive spike in business interruption and continuity planning, with companies having to source new equipment and work out the practicalities of flexible working.

Epoq IT’s rapid-response Digital Springboard service means customers can face an uncertain future with the confidence that their technology will be up to the challenge.

CIO support

Another service, My CIO, is popular with SMEs looking for the expertise of an experienced chief information officer, without having to recruit one. “Customers save money and improve their return on technology investment because we help them make the right buying decisions at the right time,” he said.

Sharing expertise

Epoq IT’s free-to-download business continuity e-book, which helps companies to mitigate risks and plan in uncertain times, typifies its attitude. “For us, the most important thing is our relationship with clients. We are keen to share the technology lessons we have learned in ways that educate customers and attract new business,” said Swanwick.
