Gloucestershire’s cyber and tech leaders will be joining legal firm Harrison Clark Rickerbys – also local to the region and beyond – for their three-day virtual Cyber Conference, from 21-23 September.

Amongst the 40+ speakers will be guests from the National Cyber Security Centre, Cynam, InfoSec, and Gloucestershire College, to deliver first-rate presentations and panel discussions on all things cyber security and tech business growth.

The variety of expertise on offer will come from both local and national industry specialists, as well as HCR’s local cyber experts. Here is a glimpse of what to expect across the 25 sessions.

Cryptoassets and their taxation (UK)

Hear from Steven Murray, Partner, Dispute Resolution, Cheltenham office

Cryptocurrency is dominating the investment world, so how well do you know the ins and outs of the crypto market?

Steven Murray and Sarah Woodall - HCR’s legal experts in tax and dispute resolution - will be addressing some of the key questions including: the different types of cryptoassets; practical steps for selling and receiving tokens; understanding cryptocurrency and how HMRC views it.

21 Sept, 4pm – 5pm

Growth story – a tech company journey of scaling up

Hear from Steve Thomas, Partner, Commercial, Cheltenham office

Moving into scaleup territory is an exciting yet bold step for any tech business, but it also requires further funding.

What makes your company investible? How can you collaborate whilst protecting your IP?  What mistakes need to be avoided during scale up? Be sure to listen in on the discussion with HCR’s Steve Thomas, Nathan Evans and Inger Anson alongside Daniel Lewis of Awen Collective.

22 Sept, 10am – 11.30am

Personal digital assets – what are the risks and opportunities for individuals?

Hear from Andrew Morris, Partner, Family Law, Cheltenham office

Digital assets are playing a much greater part in people’s personal wealth nowadays, but they can be difficult to locate or manage when their owner dies, and can also potentially be ‘hidden’ from a partner/spouse.

Andrew Morris and David King will be joined by risk consultancy firm AnotherDay to discuss the key actions to take for holding digital assets.

23 Sept, 2.15pm - 4pm
