Ascenti wins digital experience award
Ascenti has picked up the bronze award in the category ‘Best Digital Response to the Crisis – Large Company’ at the International Digital Experience Awards 2021. The Fareham-headquartered provider of physiotherapy and clinical outsourcing services beat competition from Shell, Omantel and Tata Communications and finished just four marks behind the gold winner, Iceland Foods.
Commenting on Ascenti’s entry, the award judges commented: “The change from almost purely in-person to 100% digital appointments in such a short timeframe was really impressive... you've not only brought care and relief to people who would have otherwise missed out, but have established a new differentiating capability that will broaden your market opportunities.”
At the awards final in July, chief operating officer Adam Jarvis and virtual physiotherapy service lead Jamie Duke gave an overview of Ascenti’s response to the pandemic. They contextualised the company’s speedy transition from in-clinic to online appointments, and explored the operational challenges posed by the closure of its clinics and offices, as well as the system development that was required to facilitate the switch to purely virtual diaries.
They also brought to life how Ascenti prepared its nationwide network of 300 directly employed physiotherapists to deliver care remotely. Duke said: “We’re really happy to have won bronze at the International Digital Experience Awards for our digital response to Covid-19, and are proud to see Ascenti competing alongside these internationally renowned companies.
“Adam and I were able to highlight the key role our staff played in ensuring Ascenti remained operational during the pandemic, and in fulfilling our duty of care to our patients. This has been a fantastic opportunity for us all to reflect on and celebrate our huge achievements over the last 18 months.”
Based in Fareham, Ascenti has a workforce of 600+ employees, including 300 clinicians, and is the largest employer of physiotherapists outside of the NHS and major hospital groups. Ascenti Health achieved £40.4m turnover in 2019, with its wholly-owned subsidiary Ascenti Physio reaching £24.9m.
