Hampshire-based telecommunciations provider OneCom has appointed James Bannister as sales director of OneCom Services.
Formerly vice president of UK and Ireland at major technology distributor Ingram Micro Mobility, Bannister has a wealth of experience in the telecommunications industry and a background in sales, marketing and customer relations.
He will be tasked with continuing to grow OneCom’s expanding IT and telephone systems services for businesses, which run alongside the firm’s thriving mobile phone services.
OneCom, formed by the merger of Premier Telecom and Business Phones Direct in the summer, is already the UK’s largest independent mobile phone provider and recently acquired Brighton-based lead generation firm Black Sheep as part of its growth strategy.
Bannister said: “I am excited to be joining OneCom and it’s clear that the company and I share the same entrepreneurial spirit. It’s a successful and growing business and I’m looking forward to playing my part with its continued growth.
“Excellent customer service is at the heart of everything OneCom does. It’s these values and the opportunity to work in a company that is rapidly expanding that made this role the ideal opportunity for me.”
OneCom, which has offices in Camberley, Leeds, Hereford, Birmingham, Plymouth and Telford, employs more than 300 staff and has created around 100 new jobs since the merger.
