Jon Fisher has joined Hilton at The Ageas Bowl as its new director of sales, marking the start of the new hotel’s recruitment drive in the lead up to the grand opening in May 2015.
The four-star hotel is based at the home of Hampshire cricket, The Ageas Bowl, and promises spectacular views overlooking the famous cricket ground, as well as a spa, high-end restaurant, conference and banqueting facilities for up to 700 people in the Ageas Ballroom and a new 18-hole golf course.
Fisher joins the team with over four years' experience in the region’s hospitality industry. He brings a wealth of knowledge to the role of director of sales and will be responsible for exceeding the expectations of his varied client base and creating strong business relationships that lead to long-term partnerships.
Fisher joins from the Portsmouth Marriott Hotel where he spent two years as sales director. Prior to this, he managed a number of key corporate client accounts across eight Marriott Hotels as the client account manager for the south region. His early career was spent with IBM and Xyratex in Havant.
Fisher is passionate about Hampshire, having lived in the area all his life. He said: “Hampshire is a great place to live, for leisure, social and career opportunities - all of which I have been fortunate enough to experience, and I think promoting the gems that the area has to offer is key to my new role.”
