South: Hart Brown partner begins presidency of Surrey Law Society
Marek Bednarczyk has been appointed president of the Surrey Law Society for 2014, one of the largest and most vibrant local societies in the country.
Commenting on his appointment Bednarczyk said: "This is a great honour. Although our membership is already substantial I hope to work with my colleagues in the Society to see a growth in membership and to achieve a widening of the scope of the support and services that we provide to our members. We have a great team at the Society so I am confident that these goals will be achieved. I appreciate that the role of president is a demanding one and would like to thank my fellow partners at Hart Brown for supporting."
Bednarczyk is an experienced litigator having been appointed to the Law Society's Personal Injury Panel in 1995, and has undergone reaccreditation on that panel ever since, most recently being reaccredited in June 2012.
He has also been a longstanding member of the Law Society/SRA Clinical Negligence Panel and the specialist clinical negligence panel for the charity Action against Medical Accidents (AvMA). He has worked for many years dealing with legal aid appeals for the Legal Aid Agency (LAA), an organisation charged with the administration of legal aid. He has also been a member of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL) for nearly 20 years and is an accredited APIL senior litigator.
Bednarczyk became a partner at Hart Brown in 1995, specialising in personal injury and clinical negligence.
