Commercial property consultancy Vail Williams is continuing its expansion with the recruitment of planning expert Elizabeth Burt to its Reading office.
Burt joins Vail Williams as an associate in its dedicated planning discipline. Based in the Reading office, she will cover the South East, Thames Valley and Midlands regions, providing planning consultancy and advice that contributes directly to the success of the clients.
Burt has eight years’ experience having worked for Savills for five years and at a local authority.
She is familiar with a range of house-builders, landowners, commercial operators, registered social landlords and public organisations, and has advised on all aspects of planning including residential, commercial and retail.
Her experience includes preparing and submitting planning applications, acting at appeal, promoting sites for development, carrying out site searches, undertaking environmental impact assessments, and advising on community infrastructure levy.
She said: “It’s a particularly exciting time to be joining Vail Williams as the company is actively expanding and developing. I’m eager to show how my experience and local knowledge are going to strengthen our client offering."
James Lacey, head of planning at Vail Williams, added: “Our people have a depth and breadth of market expertise that we share with our clients to ensure they always benefit. Elizabeth brings with her a real passion for planning, excellent written skills and a good knowledge of the Thames Valley region and I’m delighted to welcome her to the team.
“She joins at a time when we’ve taken on a number of exciting new projects and clients, and her skills and experience across various sectors of planning and development will add real value to our offering.
"We also have two additional members of staff joining the Guildford office within the next month.”
