Kelly Greig, head of the court of protection team at leading regional law firm Moore Blatch, has been appointed as deputy chair of the STEP UK practice committee.
STEP, the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners, is a national body for practitioners working in the private client arena.
Greig has been a member of the UK practice committee for the past 18 months and said she was delighted with her new post. “I am pleased to be appointed to this role where I feel I can help others working in this area on a practical basis, as well as raising awareness on the impact of legislation at a high level.’’
She has been a student liaison officer of the West of England branch of STEP for the past three years, helping student members become full members.
The purpose of the committee is to represent practitioners by lobbying on their behalf to changes in the law, responding to consultations and issuing practical guidance to all members in the area of this work.
Entry to STEP is by diploma exam or thesis and represents a quality mark shown that the individual member is an expert in their field.
Greig is based at Moore Blatch’s Lymingtion office.
