Phyllis Court has announced the appointment of Barry Jackson as its new chairman. He succeeds Patricia Christmas in the role.

Jackson has been a member for nine years and was elected by the board following a three-year term as deputy chairman at the private members' club based in Henley-on-Thames.

The move comes as the Club prepares to open its latest facility, the Fitness Centre, this Autumn.

Jackson still runs a consultancy in the construction industry and has held various boardroom positions within the industrial and commercial sector of the industry. He currently also chairs one of the industry’s main trade bodies.

He said: “This is an incredibly exciting year for Phyllis Court with the opening of a brand-new state-of-the art Fitness Centre, a solid five-year strategy in place and a new IT system being implemented. We have the benefit of a very strong board of directors and management team to deliver it.

“Having been involved with the running of the Club for five years and a member for nine years, I understand its values and aspirations and look forward to playing an instrumental part in the team for Phyllis Court’s next chapter.”
