Fareham: Andrew Wiseman joins BLTL team

Environmental law specialist Andrew Wiseman is joining Blake Lapthorn Tarlo Lyons to head the firm’s Environment group.

Wiseman is well known as one of the country’s leading experts in the field, and joins from Trowers & Hamlins in London where he led its environment practice.

His expertise includes advising on contaminated land issues, waste management, regulatory matters and environmental insurance.

Wiseman, who has been a solicitor for 18 years, is a leading individual recommended by Chambers UK, former chairman of the UK Environmental Law Association, is a member of the Institute of Waste Management and is a chartered environmentalist. He also writes, broadcasts and lectures on the subject.

He regularly advises multi-national companies, local authorities, NGOs, housing associations, charities and UK companies on international, European and UK regulations.

Stephen Murfitt, head of Blake Lapthorn Tarlo Lyons’ Litigation and Dispute Resolution department, said: "Andrew’s reputation and expertise in the field of environmental law are very well known. We are delighted that he is joining to head our Environment group and further develop the services we offer clients."

He joined Blake Lapthorn Tarlo Lyons on 4 June 2007 and will work from the firm's Fareham office, as well as across the rest of the office network.
