The Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead has bought 86 acres of fields and woodland at Thriftwood Farm, Cox Green, for £725,000 at auction to increase the council’s overall open space and playing fields.
Cllr Simon Dudley, leader of the council, said: “This land is adjacent to the very popular Ockwells Park. We will develop a balanced master plan for the area in conjunction with partners to provide recreation facilities for the local community.”
