Van customising firm off to racing start with new showroom, thanks to John Truslove
Midlands property agency John Truslove has helped to put a van customising business on the map with its first showroom in Redditch.
Scott Parks, the owner of Van Kings, has signed a five-year deal to lease a 2,704 sq ft called Unit 6 in Brook Street at £24,000 per annum.
Scott explained that he is applying a decade of experience in the vehicle sales industry to his new business, catering for an explosion in demand for customised Ford Transits.

He said: “The market for customised vans, particularly Transits, is just huge at the moment, and the last six months things have gone crazy.
“It can be the motor trade, businesses, sole traders or families – five or six-seater vans are just so popular that we’re having to operate a waiting list to cater for demand.
“We take the vehicles in at our new showroom in Brook Street, send them to our offsite bodyshop for work and then bring the back here.
“As a result we have about a dozen vehicles here at any one time, so with the different stock every week it’s a constantly rotating display of what we can do.”
Scott, aged 29, launched his new business 18 months ago and soon realised he needed showroom premises.
“I’d originally talked to the John Truslove team about some other premises, and then I spotted these refurbished units in Brook Street and made sure I had my foot in the door for one of them.
“I started working with Ben Truslove and he was great – the only person I’d ever deal with in the future, as he made sure everything went really smoothly.”

“Scott has really tapped into a hugely popular niche in the auto sales market and knew what he was looking for in terms of premises.”
Scott added: “We fit fancy wheels, sidebars, interiors, sports kits, everything to make a van stand out, and then use Facebook and Instagram to show off our work, which brings in even more customers.”
