A company on a mission to revolutionise the real estate sector by providing affordable and sustainable homes is staging an open day on July 9 in Surrey to unveil its first home in the UK.

HOMErs is a Ukrainian modular housing firm, which was born out of the crisis in the country by technology entrepreneur Alexander Stepura. It is now backed by Surrey-based investment expert Chris Baxter.

The homes can range from basic designs to ultra-modern versions and are made from galvanised steel frame structures with wall panels that are light, thermally efficient polyurethane. The factory gate price is around £800 per square metre and the flatpack design means low transport and assembly cost.

New modules can be added over time to expand the property.

Stepura first began producing the homes from his vending machine factory. They were for his workers, who had been made homeless by war.

The company is is now building a new factory in Slovakia and launching its products across the UK and beyond.

The firm says HOMErs can act not only as a solution for governments and charities needing crisis housing for Ukrainian and other refugees for example, but also for young first-time buyers, businesses offering housing solutions or homeowners wanting second properties.

The company says its homes are different to competitors as they offer higher quality at a lower price per square metre/foot.

Chris Baxter, non-executive board member of HOMErs, said: "It is a tremendously exciting time to be involved with HOMErs – a revolutionary housing firm born out of the Ukrainian crisis - exceptionally challenging times.

"The company is unique, beating the competition in terms of price, quality and speed. Affordable sustainable housing is in massive global demand. HOMErs will serve all aspects of the market based on its scalable Modular solution."

This exhibition day is in Ashtead, Surrey this weekend.

Interested parties can register on the companies website www.homers-global.com.

The event will feature the HOMErs story and the unveiling of the first property in the UK, together with guest speakers passionate about the business and the cause.
