Property consultancy Vail Williams LLP has further expanded its Solent team with the appointment of associate Gurdeep Virdi.

Virdi joins the property asset management team from Vine Property Management LLP in Southampton, where he worked for 16 years as management surveyor.

The new role at Vail Williams includes helping occupiers, landlords, developers and investors achieve the best possible outcomes in commercial real estate.

Working out of Southampton, Virdi will be supporting the operational management of buildings, alongside realistic strategies to produce growth returns over the short and long term for clients.

He said: “Vail Williams approached me through a third party and it made strong sense to join the business because of its reputation, reach and career opportunity.

“I set up the Southampton office of nationwide firm Vine 16 years ago. Over that time I gained a lot of experience, particularly about my home city of Southampton, which has a mixed economy and which is forecast to grow 1.7% in the year to the third quarter of 2019 – outperforming the predicted UK average.”

According to industry figures, the headline rent for office leases in Southampton, which has a population of 252,400, is £21 a sq ft, with the average rent £16.86 and average lease length of 8.9 years for deals signed last year.

Vail Williams’ Southampton office is Savannah House at Ocean Village.
