Southampton law firm Trethowans complete £3.85million Grade 1 listed property deal
Southampton law firm Trethowans has completed the sale of a Grade 1 listed property valued close to £4million.
Holme Hall, which featured heavily in the BBC series Jane Eyre, was sold for £3.85million this month.
The sale of the 17th century building included fixtures, fittings and the surrounding four acres of land. The property sits on the banks of the River Wye, Derbyshire.
Estate agent, Cauldwell & Co, appointed Southampton firm Trethowans to complete the sale.
Halina Mitchell, Partner Trethowans, said: “We have an excellent working relationship with Cauldwell & Co and have worked with them on many other transactions.
“Grade I-listed homes are very rare, accounting for just 2.5% of the UK’s property market. Buying and selling them involves satisfying a variety of truly unique and sometimes complicated legal enquiries, which proved challenging at times.
“However, I am pleased to say we built great rapport with sellers Mr and Mrs Stansfield and liaised with the buyer’s solicitors to complete the transaction, which I personally enjoyed working on very much.”
