Southampton businesses and residents are invited to an exhibition to view the outline proposals for the revised Watermark WestQuay scheme. Hammerson is holding a two-day exhibition on December 6 and 7 in WestQuay Shopping Centre providing visitors with the opportunity to learn more about the revised development, its benefits to the city and provide feedback on the proposals. The exhibition provides an overview of the masterplan for the leisure led proposals. The scheme will be delivered in two phases with the first phase comprising leisure, retail and restaurant space with a landmark cinema building, alongside newly created public space in front of the city’s historic walls.
The second phase has the potential to include a residential tower, a hotel, flexible office space, restaurants and additional public space.
Guy Wells, development manager for Hammerson, said: “The revised scheme that people are able to view is the result of over 18 months of hard work. This will help to ensure we have the best scheme for Southampton, enabling us to attract great leisure brands alongside creating exceptional new civic space for the city.
"Watermark WestQuay is an important regeneration scheme that will transform this part of the city and at the same time create full and part-time employment opportunities for local people.”
Members of the team will be on hand to explain the scheme at the exhibition, prior to the submission of a planning application in spring 2013.
