Solent: Shoosmiths completes deal for Infinity
The Solent office of law firm Shoosmiths is celebrating completing its first million-pound deal for new client Infinity Homes.
Shoosmiths partner and residential development specialist Chris Dolan advised the company – which last year received the Daily Telegraph What House? Awards prestigious title of Best Small Housebuilder of 2006 – on its acquisition of a one-acre site at Aldbourne in Wiltshire.
Formerly the home of Thames Valley Foods, the site was acquired with planning permission in place for residential units and Infinity Homes now plans to build 11 houses and four flats. The flats and one of the houses will be affordable homes.
Infinity Homes chief executive Alistair Baker commented: “Shoosmiths unrivalled experience in the residential development market, coupled with its highly skilled specialist planning team, meant that they were a natural choice for us to work with.
“I’m delighted to have completed our acquisition of the Aldbourne site and am looking forward to work getting underway on the innovative design we have in place for these new homes.”
As well as acquiring this first site for them Shoosmiths residential development and planning teams are also advising the housebuilder on its longer term site acquisition and planning applications.
Chris Dolan added: “It is always satisfying to successfully complete the first deal on behalf of a new client.
“This site fits Infinity Homes’ approach to urban brownfield regeneration by providing innovative architect design contemporary homes. Work is due to get underway on site shortly with the first completion, due by late 2007.”
Winchester-based Infinity Homes is part of Merlion Group plc and is currently in the process of building some 200 homes with plans to build some 500 additional homes over the next three years.
