SEGRO, Europe’s leading owner-manager and developer of industrial property, has announced that existing customer Hytera has expanded its presence three-fold on the Slough Trading Estate since joining the Estate in 2011.

Hytera is China’s largest provider of professional mobile radio equipment and was the first Chinese company to move to the Slough Trading Estate.  Due to the increase in demand it is seeing for its products, Hytera is now leasing an additional 4,135 sq ft having taken a unit at 938 Yeovil Road.  In total, Hytera now occupies a 13,552 sq ft site which is used as the company’s UK headquarters.

Paul Lewis, regional director for SEGRO in the Thames Valley, said: “We are delighted that Hytera has chosen to expand its business operations on the Slough Trading Estate delivering business growth and jobs to Slough.  This is further evidence that our strategy to deliver high-quality warehousing and business space in the right locations is meeting occupier demand.  We have seen a number of businesses expand on the Trading Estate this year as it continues to be one of the most sought after business locations in the Thames Valley.”

Since moving to the Trading Estate, Hytera has continued its investment in research and sales in the UK market, delivering more reliable and cost-effective professional communication solutions to response services and business users.

John Whitcomb, projects and systems sales director of Hytera, said: “Hytera Communications is the fastest growing radio communications company in the world, and is leading the migration from analogue to digital which is resulting in greater than predicted sales revenue.

"The leasing of a new unit at Slough Trading Estate underlines the healthy growth the company is experiencing, something we fully expect to continue for the foreseeable future.  We are committed to growing our business in Slough and continuing to recruit quality people from the local area to do so.”
