Reading: Co-working group Fora signs up for three floors of Thames Tower
It is the seventh confirmed letting at Thames Tower - Fora follows Clarkslegal, Objective Corporation, Austin Fraser, HSBC, BDO, and Pret A Manger with more in the pipeline.
The building sits on the town’s pedestrianised piazza, directly opposite the newly rebuilt £800 million Reading station.
To date, Fora, which aims to combine 'premium hotel-style service with stunning design and innovative technology', has launched two flexible workspaces in Clerkenwell, and Thames Tower will be its first offering outside central London when it opens in the summer.
Fora said the move underlined its strategy to "offer space to the next generation of occupiers looking for design-led contemporary office space in amenity-rich, well-connected urban locations".
Enrico Sanna, CEO and co-founder of Fora, said: “We are really excited to be opening our first workspace outside of London. Thames Tower supports our focus on offering spaces where Residents can experience a new level of service and design, enabling them to focus on developing their business whilst Fora takes care of the everyday essentials.”
James Silver, Landid development director, said: “This is very exciting news for Thames Tower and for Reading. Fora create beautiful, design-led work spaces with exceptional levels of service and are really raising the bar in the flexible workspace market. This will be an entirely new kind of flexible workspace for the Reading and wider Thames Valley market and I’m sure it will prove hugely popular with start-ups, SMEs and larger businesses looking for flexible space.”
Landid/Brockton's plans for Thames Tower, designed by dn-a architects, saw the original 10-storey 1970s building stripped back to its frame, floor plates were extended and four floors added, creating an additional 62,000 sq ft.
It includes a 4,000 sq ft rooftop terrace and sky lounge. The building also has a double-height reception area and 8,000 sq ft of restaurants, café and other amenity space.
The Landid/Brockton JV was represented by Parkinson Holt and JLL.
