Portsmouth print media firm G3s Group Ltd has signed a new headquarters lease on 34,018 square foot (sq ft) of warehousing and offices in Cosham - one of the largest deals by workspace size in the Solent region this year.

Consultant Vail Williams acted on behalf of Portsmouth city council on the 15-year lease of the site at 9, Northarbour road in the site after the graphics supply group outgrew a nearby unit.

At £5.64 per square foot, the deal is worth nearly £192,000 per annum.

Vail Williams surveyor Oliver Hockley said: "Based on square footage, this transaction represents one of the largest workspace deals in the Solent region, which is home to 42,000 businesses, this year.

"According to a design economy study by The Design Council, the design economy contributed £97.4 billion to the UK between 2019-2020 and employed one in 20 workers - nearly 2 million people," he added.

"Companies like G3s Group Ltd are part of this thriving ecosystem of graphics, craft, design, fashion, product design and architecture, to name but a few powerhouses.

"The two-storey, detached property is strategically located for the nearby M27, the ports of Portsmouth and Southampton and public transport such as Cosham mainline railway station, with Lakeside North Harbour business park opposite, with its retail facilities, and Village Hotel which includes a gym and pool," he said.

G3s Group expanded into Europe from starting as a family company back in 1981. It specialises in laminates, manufacturing, and security accreditation.

The new headquarters site at Northarbour Road spans 1.73 acres, has a large secure yard, extensive parking, three warehouse bays and two loading doors.

Vail Williams is one of the largest independent providers of commercial and residential property advice in the UK. It employs 170 people, of which 50 are partners, based across its 11 offices in the Midlands and south of England.
