Four companies have moved into a thriving hub in Portsmouth for small to medium-sized businesses. They are the latest signings for Portsmouth Technopole, a 20,000 sq ft serviced business centre which helps occupiers develop and grow.

Asher Design and Print, Compare the Policies, Learning Links and Sourced Recruitment have each taken an office at the building, which is located at Kingston Crescent, just off the M275 gateway to the city.

Portsmouth Technopole, run by Oxford Innovation on behalf of building owner University of Portsmouth, is utilised by 36 companies and organisations and 23 virtual customers, with up to 350 people on site.

Robin Sheppard, centre manager, said: “All four new occupiers share the same ambitions to grow as other firms on site and they will be able to benefit from our in-house business coaching services.

“Portsmouth Technopole is a thriving community of big thinkers, game changers and award winners, where occupiers benefit from access to business growth expertise from both the University of Portsmouth and Oxford Innovation in the form of knowledge transfers, internships in a range of disciplines and business consultancy projects.”

The centre provides support to occupiers through collaboration with the University of Portsmouth and regular interaction with its innovation director, Richard May.

A service provided to all occupiers at Oxford Innovation centres at no additional cost, May provides local business with advisory services.

Oxford Innovation runs 23 innovation centres across the country on behalf of freeholders and investors, with the emphasis on supporting start-ups and early-stage firms. Occupiers include award-winning Transalis, the digital supply chain specialist helping thousands of companies trade electronically, Bladez Toyz Plc, founded by radio-control toys entrepreneur Iain Morgan, and QiConnect, the UK’s first wireless charging expert for smartphones.

Digital printer Asher Design and Print provides print runs for commercial and private clients, including for invitations, menus, posters and flyers. Compare the Policies specialises in comparing affordable life insurance quotes. Learning Links is a charity which helps hundreds of people get back to work, change career, learn new skills and start new businesses. Sourced Recruitment specialises in waste management, IT, engineering, call centres and logistics.
