VeriSmart Inventories, based in Poole, is celebrating after taking on its 100th member, and is now setting out to revolutionise the lettings industry with the roll-out of its unique, paper-free inventory technology.

Already VeriSmart is working with some of the country’s most well-known brands in the property industry, including Purplebricks, Savills and Countrywide.

The business allows inventories to be compiled in quick time, using speech recognition technology and its own copyrighted system.

From instruction, VeriSmart clerks produce an inventory within 24 hours and this is sent via email to all parties: landlords, tenants and lettings’ agents.

Now VeriSmart has taken on its first licensee in Wales, which is the 100th member of the business.

Jonathan Senior, chairman of VeriSmart, a contraction of ‘Smart Verification’, said: “My father began the business 25 years ago. He worked in the traditional way – going round a property and listing everything using a pen and clipboard. I introduced voice recognition technology and we have since developed our own technology that produces perfect inventories in record time.

“This move forward allowed us to expand across the country with licensees buying into the business and growing their own teams. It’s been hugely successful and with the number of people renting increasing all the time, we are expanding rapidly.

“Gaining our 100th member of the business is a real landmark and we are looking for other licensees in all locations.

“From being instructed, our clerks can produce an inventory – which is a legal requirement for landlords holding deposits for tenants – within 24 hours.

“Landlords, tenants and lettings’ agents all benefit as our system is very quick and saves money.”

A report last year from accountancy firm PwC predicted that by 2025 more than half of those under 40 will be living in properties owned by private landlords.

By that year, a quarter of all households will be renting privately.

The younger generations who rent will be more used to using technology in their everyday lives – making VeriSmart even more attractive.
