Plans submitted to extend former Three mobile office in Reading for Apart-hotel
Plans to extend the former Three mobile office in Reading by building a two-storey roof extension to house 100 hotel rooms have been submitted to Reading borough council.
The application for the site of Vastern road comes from the owner of Great Brighams Mead - Kings Oak Miami LLP.
The building was sold to Kings Oak Miami by McKay Securities last year and already has Permitted Development Rights (PDR) to be converted to 110 flats, according to the website, UK Property Forums.

The site has reportedly been the subject since of two unsuccessful attempts by the developer to extend it upwards to add 72 more flats using PDR.
Kings Oak has now submitted new plans for a two-storey extension to create a 100-unit apart-hotel to be operated by Rogue City Hotels.
It will have 62 rooms on the third floor and 38 in the roof space on the fourth. A total of 64 of the units will have one bedroom while 36 will have two, it was reported.
The building, which was constructed in 2000, had been home to mobile phone business Three until it relocated to Green Park in 2021.
While the existing roof would be demolished if the plans are approved, it will be replaced with a new roof of a similar style, reported BerkshireLive.
The roof style will be in keeping with the existing building while dormer windows are sought to maintain the privacy of the surrounding properties.
