Metalor Technologies has submitted plans to build a 22,000 sq ft premises consisting of offices and laboratories for analysis and R&D which will see the creation of more than 40 skilled jobs at Longbridge Business Park, north of Bromsgrove.

Metalor Technologies, with headquarters in Switzerland and manufacturing facilities all over the world, processes and refines precious metals.  This £15m+ investment will see a new precious metals facility being constructed focusing on decorative and technical applications serving industries such as automotive, aerospace and medical.

As St. Modwen continues the regeneration of the former West Works factory, the area is rapidly gaining a reputation for being a specialist centre for science, technology, medicine, precision engineering and the R&D sector and world-leading metallurgist Metalor Technologies adds to this stellar mix.

Leading businesses such as IVC Evidensia, Waters Corporation and recently Allsee Technologies and Sterling Pharmaceutical’s have all moved into the business park.

Subject to planning permission being granted, construction work is due to start in the Winter 2024.

Rob Flavell, Director at St. Modwen, said: “We are very pleased to welcome Metalor to Longbridge. Metalor is a world leading precious metals company supporting multiple sectors from jewellery through to research and development and it is exciting to see yet another global leader join the Longbridge Business Park. It’s good news for the local and regional economies and will ensure that the work undertaken by St. Modwen in recent years will benefit the area for many years to come.”

Upon completion, Longbridge Business Park will create up to 5,000 new jobs and has benefitted from infrastructure investment in partnership with the West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA).

Longbridge Business Park offers exceptional local, regional and national connectivity and is a sustainable addition to the wider £1bn Longbridge masterplan. In addition to the business park, the investment will see an attractive new residential neighbourhood of 350 homes created.
