Family-run Winchester Motor Group has taken a new 10-year lease for its sixth car sales showroom as the business continues to expand across Hampshire.
South Coast agents Holloway Iliffe & Mitchell led the transaction and director Stuart Mitchell commented: “The premises in Stroud have been occupied by the motor trade for many years. With its prominent location, proximity to Petersfield town centre and good road and rail links, it is great to see Winchester Motor Group up and running here.”
The new used car showroom, which recently opened for trade, is located on the A272 just to the west of Petersfield town centre. The site is 2,230 sq ft with space for some 60 cars on the forecourt and a further 10 in the showroom itself.
Established in 1965, WMG is one of the main SKODA dealerships across Hampshire with sites in Winchester, Aldershot and Havant. The Petersfield site is its third used car dealership and, like the others will focus on the VW Group brands.
Commenting on the deal, WMG managing director Mark Mills-Goodlet said: “With well-established sites across much of the county, we felt that adding to our used car outlets would be a benefit to the business. This latest site is on the Eastern edge of our geography and will fit well with our existing operation in Havant.”
