Oxfordshire’s ‘Varney’s Garage’ Site Sold for Residential Development
‘Varneys Garage,’ a 0.89 acre garage site in Hornton, has been sold to property firm RJE Freeman Homes who plan to convert it to residential use.
The site is situated close to the National Trusts Upton House, seven miles to the west of Banbury and just ten miles from junction 12 of the M40 London to Birmingham Motorway. Comprising two industrial units and a self-contained yard the plot has historically been used for the maintenance and repair of motor vehicles, as well as a scrap yard.
White Commercial Surveyors state they received substantial interest. The property sold in excess of the quoting level of £600,000 to R J R Freeman Homes Ltd, a local property development company has purchased the site.
Harvey White of White Commercial comments: “It was interesting to oversee the sale of this site and to note the varying types of interests expressed; mainly from industrial developers, existing garage users
and via residential developers.
"The purchaser’s plans for the site, once carried out, will in my eyes compliment the surrounding area well; as well as being constructed to a high standard.”
Varney’s Garage commented: “Thank you to all involved at White Commercial for their
professional service in the sale of my premises. I look forward to seeing the future development of the site."
