Six more retailers and four restaurants have signed up to Land Securities and The Crown Estate’s Westgate Oxford shopping and leisure development, which will open in six months following a £440m overhaul of the site.

Levi’s, Skechers and Acuitis together with British brands Cath Kidston, Seasalt Cornwall and Molton Brown London have confirmed plans to move into the shopping complex.

Shawa Lebanese Grill, Rola Wala and Benito’s Hat will also open restaurants on the site joining other brands including Pho, Dirty Bones, Cinnamon Kitchen, The Breakfast Club, The Alchemist, Pizza Pilgrims and Polpo.

The food operators were secured through Davis Coffer Lyons, specialist leisure adviser for the Westgate Oxford Alliance.

Anchored by a 140,000 sq ft John Lewis, the 800,000 sq ft Westgate Oxford houses more than 100 other retailers and 25 restaurants and cafes, sitting alongside a five-screen Curzon Cinema.

Land Securities and The Crown Estate own the centre through their joint venture, the Westgate Oxford Alliance. The scheme will open its doors to the public on October 24 after more than a year of building work and five years of planning and preparation.

Naomi Howard, leasing director at Land Securities, said: “Today marks a significant milestone in our journey to create one of the UK’s largest and most highly anticipated retail and leisure destinations to open this year. In exactly six months, we will open our doors to the public, bringing them a vibrant blend of luxury and high street retail stores to be explored, alongside some of the most exciting food and drink brands the region will have to offer. We are thrilled to announce today’s new signings – who will be joined by more new names in the coming weeks.”
