Bidwells, one of the UK’s leading property consultancies, with an office in Oxford and 12 further offices across England and Scotland, has expanded its building consultancy project management team by 16 to a current headcount of 27, six of whom are based in Oxford, 16 in Cambridge and five in London.

The expansion is in response to significant business growth, with the firm reporting an increase in turnover from £1 million to £3.7m for its building consultancy division over the 18 months to the end of 2015.

Nicholas Pettit, partner and head of building consultancy, attributes the growth to the strength of several sectors including education, commercial offices and laboratories and student accommodation.

He said: “With advice and support from other areas of our business, we have resources and access to information that some of our competitors don’t, so we can deliver a complete solution in-house.

“2016 has also started very positively and, although there are some challenges such as a shortage of skilled labour in the construction industry and uncertainty over the EU, we are seeing projects progressing well.”

Over the next year, Bidwells is looking to recruit four to six new staff to further enhance the building consultancy team.
