Newbury: Three new lettings announced at retail park
BMO Commercial Property Trust has completed three new lettings to Lidl, Hobbycraft and Deichmann at Newbury Retail Park in Berkshire.
Hobbycraft, the arts and crafts superstore retail chain, has opened a 7,800 sq ft store in the former Poundworld unit on a 10-year lease. BCPT has also pre-let two-thirds of the former Homebase unit to supermarket chain Lidl, on a 25-year lease. In addition, Deichmann, the German footwear retailer, has contracted to take 6,000 sq ft, comprising half of the former Mothercare unit, on a 10-year lease.
Located just south of Newbury town centre, the retail park has a tenant line-up including M&S Foodhall, T K Maxx, Starbucks, Argos, Boots, Next, New Look, Dixons Carphone, Matalan, Mountain Warehouse and Costa Coffee.
Richard Kirby, director, property funds, at BMO Real Estate Partners, said: “These new lettings, which further diversify the income profile of the retail park, are a clear reflection of the hard work undertaken by our team to enhance the defensive qualities of our assets.
“This recent activity signifies that there is clear appetite from retailers for the right space, and we are confident that all three lettings will be complementary to the brands we already have at the park, providing a boost to overall footfall.”
