New homes development in Banbury given go-ahead
Cherwell District Council has granted permission to developer David Wilson Homes to build 280 new homes in Banbury.
The scheme, on land off Wykham Lane in Bodicote, includes large areas of open space, including a green corridor through the centre of the site, adult and child playing pitches, play and recreation areas, allotments and a 34-space car park to assist with the drop off and pick up times for the Bishop Loveday C of E Primary School on White Post Road.
Sam Silcocks, of property consultancy Harris Lamb, who worked on the project, said: “It is good to see that David Wilson Homes remain committed to delivering this site. The developer has a reputation for its high-specification housing and this development will meet the high demand for quality housing within Oxfordshire.
“We also welcome the pragmatic approach taken by the Local and County Council in these challenging times for the construction industry in agreeing to the relaxation of a couple of the obligations in the s.106 agreement to facilitate an early start on site and the generation of much needed construction jobs,” he added.
Dominic Harman, Managing Director at David Wilson Homes Mercia, said: “We’re thrilled to have this opportunity to deliver high-quality properties to Oxfordshire homebuyers and are looking forward to investing in a brand new community in Bodicote."
