New chief executive to take over later this year at Crest Nicholson
Surrey-based housebuilder Crest Nicholson has announced the retirement of Peter Truscott as chief executive, with Martyn Clark named as his successor.
Peter joined the company in 2019 with over 30 years’ experience in the sector. During his tenure he led Crest Nicholson through the pandemic and helped to restructure operations in its wake.
He said: “I’d like to thank the board and my colleagues at Crest Nicholson.
“It’s been a pleasure to work here and despite challenging market conditions in recent years, the group has made good progress.

“I’ll leave the group in good hands when Martyn joins later this year.”
Martyn is currently CCO at Persimmon Plc, where he’s spent nine years between senior roles in the company’s southern division. Prior to that he spent almost three decades at Bloor Homes.
He said: “I’m looking forward to joining Crest Nicholson and working with the board and wider team in the next phase of the group’s growth.”
Chairman Iain Ferguson added: “Martyn brings a wealth of experience in the housebuilding industry which will be of huge benefit to Crest Nicholson at this important time for the group. We very much look forward to working with him.
“I’d also like to take this opportunity to thank Peter. He’s led the group through a very difficult and challenging period and has ensured that he hands over a business well positioned to take Crest Nicholson forward.”
The news comes following a recent trading update from the company which, for the third time in a matter of months, saw profit expectations for FY23 dip to £41m.
