Eastbourne’s Majestic Hotel has been sold by Christie & Co on behalf of Coast & Country Collection for an undisclosed sum.
The 19th century seafront hotel has 95 bedrooms, many of which offer views over the sandy beach, Royal Parade and Eastbourne Prom. There’s also a bar and lounge area.
It’s one of 33 assets in the Coast & Country portfolio to be put to market.
Another, the Grand Atlantic Hotel in Weston-super-Mare, was sold last August to Singaporean hospitality investor Fragrance Group.
Ed Belfield, regional director on Christie & Co’s hotel team, said: “The sale of The Majestic Hotel represented an exceptional opportunity to acquire a successful hotel business with significant repeat patronage.
“We congratulate the new owners on their purchase of an iconic South Coast resort hotel.
“The Coast & Country hotels have received very strong interest to date, and a very limited number remain available.”
