Guildford-based Future Biogas has formed an agricultural board of leading academics and industry experts.
The board is set to provide farming, scientific and market expertise to help deliver the UK’s first subsidy-free renewable energy from sustainable and regenerative agriculture – ‘Project Carbon Harvest’.
They’ll each offer independent expertise, critique, and corroboration for the project, covering a broad range of subjects including sustainable farming, scientific research and policy.
This will ensure that a wide spectrum of perspectives and specialisms are considered in the scrutiny applied to the project’s methodology, underlying science and practical application.

The board is chaired by Professor Tina Barsby OBE, previously a non-executive director at Future Biogas.
Tina has a background in genetics, through which she’s developed a broad understanding of farming working with both farmers and landowners over the past four decades.
She’s joined by Ben Abell, head of agronomy at Dyson Farming; Hugh Baker, co-owner of Hub Rural Ltd; Dr. Belinda Clarke, director at Agri-TechE; and Harley Stoddart, head of climate mitigation science at Defra.
There’s also James Goodley, a Norfolk farmer; Dr. Julian Little, director of Julian Little Communications; Matt Ryan, head of farmer relationships at Oxbury Bank; and Oliver Scott, farms director at Bradford Estates.
The board met for the first time last October and will continue to convene on a quarterly basis.
