Lichfields’ Thames Valley office has appointed Nick Kirby (pictured) as a Planning Director, following a buoyant 18 months and some significant project wins.

Kirby has previously worked as Planning Director at Pegasus Group in Bracknell and as a Planner at Bracknell Forest Council prior to that. He brings 13 years’ residential, commercial and leisure planning experience to the role and is a chartered member of the Royal Town Planning Institute.

Senior Director and Head of Thames Valley office, Daniel Lampard, said: "Nick is a significant player in the development sector in the Thames Valley with a strong track record and we think he’s a really good fit for us and our clients."

The appointment of Kirby further increases the number of staff in the Thames Valley office, following the recent return of Nicola Jones from a client-side role. She is leading the office’s increased workload across the renewable energy sector.

The team’s workload has increased recently in part through representing clients who are responding to consultations on both the Oxford to Cambridge Arc and the Oxfordshire Plan 2050 consultation, with the latter designed to shape the future development of the County.

About Lichfields

Founded in 1962, Lichfields is a national planning and development consultancy offering a range of planning services including economics, heritage, sustainability, and GIS. Clients include local authorities and government bodies, as well as developers, landowners and operators in the housing, retail, leisure, commercial, waste and recycling and infrastructure sectors.

Daniel Lampard set up the Thames Valley office for the consultancy in 2015 after 20 years working in its London office.

The team, based in Reading, has since won contracts for a number of iconic developments, including Berkeley Homes’ redevelopment of the Horlicks factory in Slough, Raymond Blanc’s Belmond Le Manoir aux Quat'Saison hotel & restaurant in Oxfordshire and JP Morgan’s Foundation Park scheme in Maidenhead.

Apart from offices in the Thames Valley and London, the company has offices in Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff, Edinburgh, Leeds, Manchester and Newcastle.
